THE SUBMISSION : THE SELF TAPE

We would like to see a short self tape including:

- A statement including which role(s) the performer would like to be considered for
(If submitting for two or more roles, we will need to see ONE combined tape of all relevant readings)

THE STORY
​
“The Lock In” is a horror-comedy short about George, a second generation immigrant and small town southerner who, through no fault of his own, finds himself hunted by a vicious zombie horde. As the terrible virus sweeps the nation, George seeks shelter in a local pub only to find the remaining patrons, Martin, Chris, and Mary less than welcoming. Threatening to throw him out as bait, can he turn their favour before the horde turns them all?

PAYMENT
​Each actor will be paid the minimum daily rate of £166 (or weekly £644)
Production will cover travel/accommodation expenses of all actors where required/requested.

CHARACTER PROFILES
GEORGE

George is our films protagonist. A father of two and a proud business owner. A reserved and slightly anxious man who would much prefer a Saturday night in with the family instead of running down the high street away from a vicious horde of zombies.
We are looking for any male presenting or non-binary actor to apply for this role. This role will require strong physicality and strong emotional communication. This will be a great opportunity to show off strong comedy/improvisational skills.

MARTIN
Martin is everyone’s favourite drinking buddy. A man made entirely of funny bones and enough beer to quench the thirst of the Middle Ages, he is exactly who you want as your darts team mascot. He’s not any good of course but he is a right laugh.
We are looking for any male or non-binary presenting actor to apply for this role. This role will require strong emotional communication. This will be a great opportunity to show off strong comedy/improvisational skills

Chris’s only goal in life is to earn enough money to move to Spain permanently but also doesn’t like the idea of people wanting to move to England either. He’s a “working professional”, always puts his ten pence in on Facebook forums regarding local council policies, but no one actually knows what he does for work.
We are looking for any male or non-binary presenting actor to apply for this role. This role will require strong emotional communication.

Mary is a fiery, confident woman who is convinced that, if it weren’t for that nasty incident in 88’ (don’t ask), she would be living it up with Martin Kemp in a nice fully-detached in the country. Instead, she’s a pub landlord and she isn’t too thrilled to be working a Saturday night.
We are looking for any female or non-binary presenting actor to apply for this role. This role will require strong emotional communication.
